About TimeCarver
TimeCarver is an iPhone app where a raw block of stone is carved into a sculpture while you focus. Your works are stored on your iPhone and in your own iCloud, and they aren’t sent to PawPaw.

Email support@pawpawdigital.com. It helps to include what you expected, what happened instead, how to make it happen again, and which version of TimeCarver you’re using. Please don’t send passwords or Apple receipts.
How carving works
Swipe the work on the plinth to choose a stone, set the length, and tap Begin carving. As the minutes pass, the raw block is carved into a sculpture, and the finished work is unveiled when the session ends. Short sessions reveal studies; long ones, masterworks. Finished works gather in your Collection, the grid icon at the top left.
To abandon the block while you carve, press and hold the × button. The block crumbles, and nothing is added to your Collection.
Soft Crack and Hard Lock
Choose a focus mode with the button beside Begin carving.
Soft Crack: your other apps stay available, but leaving TimeCarver for more than 10 seconds cracks the stone, and staying away longer adds more cracks. Locking your iPhone never cracks the stone (this needs a device passcode).
Hard Lock: iOS itself locks the apps you choose until the work is finished, or until you abandon the block. It needs Screen Time access. To set it up:
- In TimeCarver, go to Settings → Hard Lock apps. Settings is the gear icon at the top right.
- Tap Allow Screen Time access and allow it.
- Tap Choose apps to lock and pick the apps.
If you declined Screen Time access, you can allow it in iOS Settings → Screen Time.
Cracks and mending in gold
Cracks stay in the finished work, and its label tells you how many fractures it was carved through. Patrons can mend them with gold, the art of kintsugi: tap Mend in gold on the label when the work is unveiled, or later on its page in your Collection.
Patron and Restore purchases
Patron is a one-time purchase, yours for good and shared with your family. It opens marble, obsidian, crystal, jade and lapis, unlimited soundscape layers and saved mixes, kintsugi, rare works in the catalog, and the full shelf on your Home Screen. If Patron isn’t unlocked on a new or reset iPhone:
- Make sure the App Store is signed in with the Apple Account you used to become a Patron.
- In TimeCarver, go to Settings and tap Restore purchases.
- Stay connected to the internet until the restore finishes.
A purchase waiting for approval opens Patron as soon as it’s approved. If Patron still isn’t unlocked, email your app version. Apple handles all billing and refunds for App Store purchases.
iCloud and a new iPhone
If you use iCloud, sign in on the new iPhone with the same Apple Account and install TimeCarver. Your works sync on their own; the first sync can take a few minutes. Without iCloud, your works stay on the iPhone where you carved them.
Removing a work from your Collection removes it from every device signed in to your iCloud account.
Widgets and Live Activities
Add the Shelf widget, which shows this week’s works, from the widget gallery on your Home Screen or Lock Screen. The small Home Screen widget and the Lock Screen widgets are free; the medium and large Home Screen widgets, the full shelf, are for Patrons. If a widget looks out of date, open TimeCarver once.
While you carve, a Live Activity shows the time left and the stone on the Lock Screen and, on iPhones that have it, in the Dynamic Island. If it doesn’t appear, check that Live Activities are turned on for TimeCarver in iOS Settings.
Find your app version
In TimeCarver, go to Settings and look for Version.
