About this policy
PawPaw operates TimeCarver, an iPhone app where a raw block of stone is carved into a sculpture while you focus. TimeCarver needs no account or sign-in and has no advertising or tracking tools. It doesn’t ask anyone, including children, for a name, email address, or other contact details. Your sessions and works aren’t sent to PawPaw, and PawPaw can’t see them. Besides Apple’s iCloud and App Store, TimeCarver connects only to RevenueCat, which receives just the app and purchase information described under Purchases. PawPaw runs no server for it.
Your works
Your focus sessions and finished works are stored on your device: which sculpture and stone, when each session started and finished, how long you planned and how long you focused, any cracks, and whether you mended them in gold (kintsugi). If you’re signed in to iCloud, TimeCarver syncs them, with your favorites and saved soundscape mixes, through your private iCloud database (CloudKit) to your other devices signed in with the same Apple Account. Apple stores that data under its iCloud terms, and PawPaw can’t access it. If you turn off iCloud for TimeCarver, it all stays on your device. Your settings are stored on your device.
The Shelf widget and the Live Activity read only what the app leaves for them in a space on your device that only TimeCarver and its own extensions share (an App Group): this week’s works with their pictures, and the session in progress. They can show your works and your session on the Home Screen, the Lock Screen, and in the Dynamic Island.
Focus modes and Screen Time
In Soft Crack, TimeCarver checks on your device whether you leave the app during a session and whether your iPhone is locked, to decide when the stone cracks. It can’t tell which app you open, and none of this is sent anywhere.
Hard Lock uses Apple’s Screen Time API (Family Controls). When you choose apps to lock, iOS gives TimeCarver tokens that stand for those apps, not their names or your usage history. TimeCarver keeps your choice on your device and doesn’t send it anywhere, and iOS locks those apps only until the work is finished or you abandon the block.
Notifications
TimeCarver schedules local notifications on your iPhone: when your work is finished, and, in Soft Crack, when the stone is starting to crack. iOS asks for your permission the first time you begin carving. These notifications aren’t sent from a server, and you can turn them off in iOS Settings.
iCloud may send TimeCarver silent push notifications, only to deliver sync changes from your other devices. PawPaw sends no push notifications.
Exhibition cards and Photos
Exhibition cards are drawn on your device from your work. When you share one, only the image goes to the app or destination you pick in the share sheet, and that destination’s privacy practices apply. If you save a card to Photos, iOS asks for permission to add photos. TimeCarver never reads your photo library.
Soundscape
The soundscape is made and played entirely on your device. TimeCarver never accesses the microphone.
Purchases
Patron is a one-time purchase, and Apple processes the payment. TimeCarver checks your purchase on your device with Apple’s StoreKit, and PawPaw never receives your payment details. So that PawPaw can see its sales, TimeCarver also uses RevenueCat. When TimeCarver opens, it sends RevenueCat an anonymous identifier created by the app, the identifier iOS gives apps from the same developer, and technical data such as device model, system and app version, language, App Store country, and network information. When you buy or restore Patron, it also sends Apple’s transaction record for that purchase. Even an anonymous identifier can link RevenueCat’s records to one another. Your sessions, works, sound settings, name, and email address are never sent to RevenueCat. See the RevenueCat and Apple privacy policies.
Retention and deletion
Each work stays until you remove it. To remove one, open it in Collection and choose Remove from collection; if you use iCloud, it’s removed from your other devices too. Deleting the app removes what TimeCarver stored on that device. Data synced to iCloud stays there until you delete TimeCarver’s data in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud.
Apple and RevenueCat keep purchase records under their own policies and legal obligations. Deleting the app doesn’t erase them or stop you from restoring Patron.
Your choices and contact
PawPaw never receives your sessions or works, so it can’t view, retrieve, or delete them for you. Your rights under applicable privacy law remain available. For privacy, deletion, or support requests, contact support@pawpawdigital.com. Records kept by RevenueCat or Apple may require a request to them, and RevenueCat may process data outside your country, such as in the United States, under its privacy policy. See TimeCarver Support.
If you contact support, PawPaw uses the contact details and information you choose to send only to respond. Visits to this website may also generate ordinary hosting records, such as IP address, request time, and browser information, to deliver and protect the site.
Changes to this policy
If TimeCarver’s data practices change, PawPaw will update this page and its date.
